I spent the day in Manhattan shooting with a LensBaby lens - hence that odd blurring around the edges. This was shot from our balcony in New York. It seems that every person with a rooftop space in our neighborhood has a garden up there. A little oasis to go to, even if the noise follows you up from the street.
EDIT: It's been a few months, and this image has come to really embody NY in the summer. I can feel the thick humid air, I can smell the city, and I can hear th traffic.
